“Boring” Wellness Items I’ve Used Daily for Over 5 Years
These wellness staples might be no frills, BUT they work and I haven’t stopped using them for a reason!

I’ve tried lots of different food items, household products, supplements and herbs on my holistic health journey for over a decade. But there are certain ones that stand the test of time and I keep going back to day after day for years on end. Here are my tried-and-true favorites.
1. Celtic Salt

If I could only choose one type of salt to use forever, it would probably be grey Celtic, which has 80+ natural minerals and is wonderful for replenishing the body. It has an amazing taste and pairs perfectly with anything I cook. I buy the coarse version because it’s cheaper and if I need to grind it fine, I use a coffee grinder. Lately though, for fine salt I’ve been buying Redmond’s which I love almost just as much, and it works beautifully as a finishing salt.
2. Loose leaf tea infuser

So simple and practical, this loose leaf tea infuser balances on any mug and I love that I can add whatever tea combo I’m feeling that day.
3. Loose leaf tea

Herbal teas have always been a powerful ally for me to help me unwind and nourish my body, too. Herbs have powerful health benefits plus vitamins and minerals, and what’s more relaxing than a cup of herbal tea? These are the ones I always have on hand:
- Nettle – strengthens the body, like nature’s multivitamin
- Oatstraw – soothes the nervous system
- Red raspberry leaf – nourishes the female reproductive system & hormones
- Ginger – potent for upset stomach or anti viral needs
- Marshmallow – an incredible gut soother (I use it to make my own marshmallows too!)
- Chamomile & Sweet Dreams teabags – I drink one of these nightly. I’ve been buying Bigelow’s teabags for years, they’re so good and I don’t plan to stop.
4. Best walking shoes

I decided to invest in some Brooks walking shoes last year and they’ve been the best companion for getting my daily steps in. Highly recommend buying an amazing pair of walking shoes. Walking is one of the best things we can do for our health, and it’s accessible for everyone.
5. Dumb step counter

I’m not a sports watch kinda girl, but I still want to be aware of my step count for the day without the EMFs. Hence this dumb step counter that I can clip to my pocket all day. I’m always mad if I accidentally lose one or throw it in the wash, but I promptly order another because this really motivates me!
6. Blue blocking glasses

Wearing these orange blue blocking glasses a couple hours before bed is incredible because it aligns your circadian rhythm with the sun, blocks unnatural blue light in the evening and helps your body make melatonin before bed. When I’m consistent with wearing these, I actually get sleepy at bedtime instead of getting a second wind.
7. Collagen & gelatin

I try to incorporate gelatin, collagen, or bone broth (or all 3) at some point during my day. Our Western diets are often lacking in the gut healing amino acids & nutrients from bones, collagen, and connective tissue. These strengthen the gut lining!
My favorite gelatin & collagen I use on a daily basis are from Perfect Supplements (use code HEALTHY10 to save). Right now, you can add this coupon to cart and save an additional $7 on your order for St. Patrick’s Day! I stir collagen into drinks, oatmeal, or smoothies and I use gelatin to make homemade gummies and marshmallows.
8. Liver

Organ meats are powerful and liver in particular is like nature’s multivitamin. These liver capsules are the cleanest I’ve found and have been particularly helpful in my battle with iron deficiency.
9. Magnesium lotion

Slathering on some of this magnesium lotion before bed every night is so relaxing! The sleep and original blends are both great.
10. Real food vitamin C

I like taking vitamin C daily to buffer stress, support the adrenals, boost immunity, and support skin elasticity and collagen rebuilding from the inside out. This one made from real food (fruits) is my favorite and so gentle. According to my Amazon account, I’ve purchased this 38 times. So that’s saying something.
11. Simple mills crackers

The best gluten free crackers ever! These with my favorite cheese is an (almost) daily ocurrence. Sometimes it’s really nice to have a healthier convenience food on hand.
12. Earplugs

Honestly I never thought I could wear earplugs, but these pink Mack’s earplugs are SO comfy and really help me sleep deeper. I never travel without them.
13. L-theanine & magnesium

This is the BEST combo for promoting calm and reducing anxiety! My holistic doctor recommened l-theanine years ago. It’s the active compound in green tea and it’s great for calming racing thoughts. Paired with magnesium, which is known as the relaxation mineral, this is a powerful combo.
14. Swiss water process decaf coffee

Years ago, I gave up caffeine for health reasons and this is the only decaf coffee I’ve found that I love. Tastes just like real, dark roast coffee and they use water to remove the caffeine instead of chemicals, which is a huge plus. Even my coffee snob husband loves this, and has it on a monthly subscription.
15. Organic grains

One of the best things I did for my family’s health was to start baking with fresh milled flour! I mill my own flour to make all our pancakes, muffins, etc super healthy. I love these organic, regeneratively farmed grains from Grand Teton Ancient Grains.
I hope you love these items as much as I do! Let me know: what are your wellness must-haves?
